PKM (Pulemyot Kalashnikova Modernizirovanny - "Kalashnikov's Machine Gun Modernized") is a modernized version of Kalashnikov PK machine gun, operating with 7.62x54R ammunition. The PKM proved to be a powerful, simple, reliable and effective weapon. It was in demand for many decades, starting from the late 60s of the last century and up to the present time.
